ABSTRACT

A paper by T. B. Steel, Jr., “The Foundations of a Theory of Data Processing”, discusses the concept of a general array that has been developed by the SHARE Theory of Information Handling Committee. The definition of general array in that paper is used here without further formal discussion. This paper will illustrate some applications of this concept as well as present a context that may indicate the range of its utility.
