ABSTRACT

A limited extension of APL for binary relations is proposed, and it is shown that general graphic support falls out as a special case. The relational facility can be implemented as an associative machine which coexists with, and complements, the APL machine in a joint environment. The resulting system provides the basis for a robust and enduring solution to the issue of graphics in APL.
