ABSTRACT

This paper describes two different menu-driven applications, in which APL software and the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) are used together. In one (TTK = The Statistical Database System) SAS is called during the execution of an APL application to produce color maps from the data retrieved and probably modified in an APL application. In the other (the ZT System) APL is called during the execution of a SAS application to handle complicated functions of the whole application. Some attention is also given to the effective FORTRAN-based input/output routines utilized in both of these applications.
