ABSTRACT

UC Davis (enrollment approximately 19,000) is historically an agricultural school which has been somewhat slower to develop a computing intensive academic program than many other comparable universities. It became a full-range university in the UC system in the 1960's. This paper explores the development of a computer instructional program for the faculty, staff, and students at UCD, using an analogy of growing crops.
