ABSTRACT

Program designers invent new dialog techniques all the time, but these techniques are often not documented in formal scientific papers. Several years of this has led to the current state where very few people would be able to list, say all the different kinds of menus. The CHI+GI'87 workshop on classification of dialog techniques was intended to remedy this problem somewhat by coming up with a classification scheme according to which existing and new dialog techniques could be cataloged.
