ABSTRACT
Many open source digital logic emulators are available and some have been used by the author to build demonstrations, applets, circuits, and computers for use in discrete mathematics, hardware and operating systems, networking, computer organization and computer architecture classes. This workshop will teach attendees how to use three free, open source logic emulators as a teaching resource in Information Technology classes: MultiMedia Logic, Cedar Logic, and LogiSim. Some of the circuits and applets used in teaching to be taught and demonstrated in this workshop include symmetric encryption/decryption, number conversion, circuit design and simplification, number conversion, debate timer, binary clock, and a number of complete computer systems demonstrating Harvard, Von Neumann, and several other computer architectures. This workshop will include electronic copies of all of the circuits built and demonstrated. REFERENCES
