ABSTRACT

The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) actively employs new/social media to reach and engage users where they are -- in blogs, social networks, virtual worlds, mobile applications, other Web sites, and many other rapidly expanding venues that provide opportunities for interacting with users -- with the goal of improving the health, safety, and preparedness of people around the world. This session includes a review of social media being used at CDC, results achieved, lessons learned, and a view of what's in planning for eHealth at CDC.
