ABSTRACT

In the development of modern IT systems, there is a trend towards adaptive systems. In the meantime, there are diverse approaches in the area of Ambient Intelligence, where a smart environment adapts itself to its user. But current researches also analyze adaptivity in the area of business process and business service management. An approach for adaptivity is context awareness. In this paper, we describe a holistic approach for the context-aware configuration and execution of business services and their underlying processes, which is being developed within the German research project Robot2Business. We consider the integration of context on three different levels (business services, processes, technology). The approach will be evaluated in two different use cases within the project (agriculture and IT service management) in order to proof both the context-aware re-combinability and configuration of service modules (build time) and the context-aware exception handling in the associated processes (run time).
