ABSTRACT

Today, GIS continues to evolve rapidly enabled in part by the evolution of competing platform technology, increasing social demands for geographic knowledge and finally by the creative thinking and algorithm development of software engineers. This paper presentation will explore the science and application routes, provide some suggestions of where the technology will evolve and what this means for society in general.
