ABSTRACT

In this paper we describe a novel framework for managing multimedia data using ontologies. Differently from previous theories, we propose a uniform model for both low level multimedia data and semantic description. An ontological system for image retrieval is described and several experiments are carried out in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of our methods.
