ABSTRACT

Much is said these days regarding low enrollments in computer science, reports indicate significant difficulties in recruiting women and other underrepresented groups to the field, and many studies discuss difficulties with the public image of computing. Clearly many deep societal and cultural issues underlie much of the problem, and many organizations (including ACM, ACM-W, CSTA, and SIGCSE) are considering ways to address these systemic issues.
