ABSTRACT

Recently, it was realized that Vehicular Ad hoc Networkscan support multimedia applications, including peer-to-peer content provisioning. Not surprisingly, a number of peer to peer systems for VANET have been recently proposed in the literature. However, these systems rely on either theexisting cellular system or else on some form of roadside infrastructure installed every few miles. Unfortunately, the cost of installing and maintaining such an infrastructure islikely to be very high, rendering these systems inaccessible to most countries. The main contribution of this work is to propose ZIPPER- a zero-infrastructure peer to peer system for Vehicular Adhoc Networks.
