ABSTRACT

Compframe is an open international organization of framework and component framework developers representing many of the major efforts in HPC today. The purpose of this BOF is to assemble developers of framework and component frameworks for high performance computing. Application developers and users of these frameworks are also welcome in the context of user experience, desired enhancements, horror stories, etc. Discussion will center design patterns, methodologies, user experience and interoperability with these tools. Of particular interest is the viability of these frameworks for petascale applications on the next generation leadership class hardware coming on line soon. Also under discussion is the possiblity of a follow-on workshop, its date, venue, content and the publication of proceedings.
