ABSTRACT

The truncated power series package in ALTRAN has been available for over a year now, and it has proved itself to be a useful and exciting addition to the armoury of symbolic algebra. A wide variety of problems have been attacked with this tool: moreover, through use in the classroom, we have had the opportunity to observe how a large number of people react to the availability of this tool.
