ABSTRACT

Mobile devices are limited in their capabilities, in particular when accessing multimedia information services. To overcome their performance limitation, we suggest employing code mobility to offload computationally demanding application components to more powerful proxy servers. Based on this idea, we are developing a mobile code middleware infrastructure build on top of KVM, a Java virtual machine for mobile devices.
