ABSTRACT
This paper reports an algorithm for the automatic recognition of blends from Boundary Representation (B-rep) solid models. The algorithm also deduces the sequence in which the blends got created in the model, and thereby helps in understanding the design intent of the model. This algorithm has been implemented as a blend recognition module of a Feature Recognition library. The novelty of the blend recognizer lies in the recognition of blends that occur in different configurations and complex blend networks. The paper also discusses various applications of blend recognition and suppression.
