ABSTRACT

This paper describes how a simulation is developed which can be used to have an autonomous-distributed synchronization (ADS) system for a satellite network. The study of these problems is accomplished using a computer program, named the space system synchronization simulation of “S4” program which models all aspects of a space-based synchronization and timing system including: (1) Satellite position and velocity and line-of-sight (LOS) geometry, (2) Clocks belonging to each member satellite, (3) Space Network connectivity, and (4) synchronization and recalibration operations. Some examples are shown of the data produced by this program.
